PROPER BACKPACK FITTING ADVICE FROM YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
🎒It’s back to school and it is so important to have those backpacks properly fitted for the kiddos!
🎒1. Make sure the pack is seated between the shoulders and bottom. Adjust the straps as you need
🎒2. The wider the straps the better! This will allow proper weight Distribution and prevent sore neck/shoulders/back.
🎒3. Utilize the front chest/abdomen straps to help offload the weight going through the back.
🎒4. When loading things in, ensure the heaviest items are closest to the back. This will prevent a saggy backpack which forces a head forward posture.
🎒5. Avoid twisting your back or jumping up and down to take off the backpack.
🎒6. Use both straps! It is cool to have a painfree back, it is not cool to sling it over one arm and have pain.
