PROPER BACKPACK FITTING ADVICE FROM YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
πIt’s back to school and it is so important to have those backpacks properly fitted for the kiddos!
–
π1. Make sure the pack is seated between the shoulders and bottom. Adjust the straps as you need
π2. The wider the straps the better! This will allow proper weight Distribution and prevent sore neck/shoulders/back.
π3. Utilize the front chest/abdomen straps to help offload the weight going through the back.
π4. When loading things in, ensure the heaviest items are closest to the back. This will prevent a saggy backpack which forces a head forward posture.
π5. Avoid twisting your back or jumping up and down to take off the backpack.
π6. Use both straps! It is cool to have a painfree back, it is not cool to sling it over one arm and have pain.
